Halfway Home: Your Mid-Year Check-In

On this 286th episode of my Monday Morning Pep Talk, we’re hitting pause—not to slow down, but to level up. We're halfway through 2025. The energy of Q1 has worn off. The dust of Q2 is starting to settle. Now’s the time to ask: Am I where I want to be? Am I operating with intention, or am I just reacting to the business as it comes at me? In today’s MMPT, I’m not here to tell you what to do—I’m here to challenge you through questions. Questions designed to provoke clarity, sharpen your self-awareness, and reignite your vision for the back half of the year. This is your Q3 Audit, rooted in the Take Flight philosophy.

Before I jump into today’s call, I want to remind you of my purpose: to help you, the full-service, full-fee Advisor, become more productive and more fulfilled. Because happy advisors sell more real estate. Listen in like we’re one-on-one—this is your coaching session.

Here’s the truth: most people don’t change their trajectory because they don’t take time to evaluate it. High performers do. They stop. They reflect. They re-align. This audit is your checkpoint, not your report card. It's a tool to help you finish 2025 with clarity, purpose, and momentum. To use a metaphor: just like cleaning out your closet, take your business out of the closet—throw it all on the bed—and intentionally put back only what’s working for you. What needs to be added? What needs to go?

Your Q3 Audit: 7 Sections to Realign and Reignite

1. Vision, Mindset, Clarity, and Boundaries
  • What are the dominant thoughts and stories I’ve carried into Q3?
  • Am I thinking like a business owner—or reacting like a hobbyist or technician?
  • Where am I operating from fear or scarcity instead of abundance and trust?
  • What identity or mindset shift would unlock the next level for me?
  • Did I hold proper boundaries when selecting the right clients?
  • Am I filling my mind with positive inputs?
  • Do I find myself doomscrolling through social media—or focused on high-quality self-development?
2. The Math
  • What are my current 2025 GCI and units on a 12-month rolling basis—and what’s my forecast for Q3 and Q4?
  • How many transactions have I generated from my Top 100?
  • What percentage of my opportunities came from my 3 Rocks of Marketing?
  • Am I on pace—or just hoping things will “even out”?
  • Am I tracking my performance weekly?
3. Maintaining Momentum
  • Have I gained momentum, lost it, or plateaued?
  • What actions or systems helped me build momentum in Q1 and Q2?
  • What distractions or inefficiencies slowed me down? Am I letting what’s going on in the world derail me?
  • Where in my pipeline have I coasted—and what needs to be re-engaged this week?
  • Do I track the most important aspects of my life and business?
4. Habits, Routines, and Rituals
  • What’s my current morning routine—and is it serving me?
  • What consistent habits have I stacked—or let slide?
  • Am I protecting my non-negotiables (planning, prospecting, rest)?
  • How would I rate my energy, clarity, and discipline on a scale of 1 to 10?
5. CRM and Systems
  • Is my CRM current, segmented, and actively generating business?
  • Am I following the NEXT 10 strategy?
  • Are my SOPs (standard operating procedures) documented, followed, and delegated effectively?
  • Can my business function for a week if I step away?
  • What systems or tech do I need to clean up or revisit in Q3?
6. Strategy and Execution
  • What’s my single most important marketing initiative—and is it producing ROI?
  • Am I tracking and adjusting based on real metrics—or guessing?
  • What’s my primary client acquisition strategy right now?
  • What initiative or idea am I sitting on that needs action?
7. Personal Goals: Health, Wellness, Travel, Environment
  • Am I physically and mentally operating at my best?
  • How many days did I fully unplug this year? What’s planned next?
  • Is my home environment inspiring—or draining me?
  • What experience—trip, event, or project—do I want to prioritize in Q3/Q4?

Final Thoughts

This is your moment. These aren’t just reflection questions—they’re growth levers. You don’t need to overhaul your life or business overnight. You need to see clearly what’s working and what’s not. Because when you see it, you can change it. And when you change it, you change everything.

High achievers aren’t perfect—they drift, get distracted, and fall behind. What sets them apart is their ability to recalibrate quickly. They don’t judge the slip—they course-correct with intention. Because they’re not playing the short game. They think in intermediate and long time frames. And self-checks like this one are how they stay on course to become the version of themselves they committed to becoming.

Block 90 minutes this week. Print this out. Sit with it. Journal it. Let it guide your next move. Mid-year isn’t the time to coast—it’s the time to correct course and gain altitude.
